💡About the event:

We are excited to invite 20 start-ups and SMEs (10 from Europe and 10 from ASEAN) with a business idea, to the Europe-ASEAN Innovation Event 2024, that will be held in Hanoi, Vietnam and online (13:30 – 18:00 local time, 08:30 – 13:00 CEST time) on 2 October 2024.

This event aims to foster collaboration and market access of groundbreaking ideas across two main themes critical to our future: Circular Economy and Clean Energy.

🚩Why attend?

Showcase: Present your innovative solutions to a global audience.

Learn: Gain insights into the latest trends and challenges in the fields of circular economy and clean tech.

Collaborate and access to market: Learn more about Europe or ASEAN market’s specific requirements, explore possibilities for co-creation and collaboration between Europe and ASEAN and identify market opportunities.

🌿Main topics of the Innovation Event:

1. Circular Economy:

  • Wastewater treatment and reuse (industrial and municipal) : With growing industrialisation and urbanisation, managing wastewater effectively is becoming increasingly challenging. How can we innovate wastewater treatment technologies to enhance efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and enable sustainable water reuse in both industrial and municipal settings? What cross-regional (Europe-ASEAN) collaborative strategies can be employed to address regulatory, technical, and economic barriers to adopting advanced treatment practices?
  • Waste collection and management : Rapid urbanisation and changing consumption patterns have led to significant increases in waste generation. How can we create and implement innovative waste collection and management solutions that encourage resource recovery, reduce environmental impact, and are financially viable? What role can Europe-ASEAN collaboration play in addressing the technological, policy, and social challenges of transitioning to a circular economy in waste management?

2. Clean Energy:

  • Advanced energy storage solutions : Integrating renewable energy sources effectively requires overcoming challenges posed by their intermittent nature. What novel approaches can improve the efficiency, capacity, and affordability of energy storage devices? How can Europe and ASEAN regions work together to accelerate the deployment of advanced energy storage technologies, and what policies and frameworks are needed to facilitate this transition?
  • Smart metering and energy efficiency: Increasing energy efficiency is essential for reducing carbon footprints and enhancing energy security. How can we accelerate the development and implementation of smart metering technologies to increase energy efficiency? What collaborative efforts between Europe and ASEAN can overcome barriers to widespread adoption and create a favourable environment for smart metering and energy efficiency initiatives?

We are open to your innovative ideas and solutions, so please feel free to suggest/come up with other sub-topics contributing to circular economy and green transition.
